THE ROOFTOP BAR

The Rooftop Bar, The summer is here and we got all The Workman’s burly workmen in just in time to whip our rooftop into impeccable shape. Now, through the magic door on the First Floor Bar, what awaits you is a summertime/after-work/anytime rooftop delight- fully equipped with wooden decking worthy of a Norwegian prince, hookahs to puff on to your lungs content and heat lamps that would warm the coldest of creatures. Summer is sorted!
No.9 @ The Workman’s Club, Our push towards Wellington Quay overlord status continues with the opening of No. 9 @ The Workman’s Club, our brand new bar on the first floor, which opens out onto The Roof and, get this, has new toilets! Finally, no need to run the gauntlet of the basement stairs if you’re on the First Floor! We’ve coveted No. 9@The Workman’s Club from the building next door and made our own. It’s all bare bricks and lofty ambitions and we love it and we look forward to you loving it too!
This baby will be available to hire for aftershow parties, launches, showcases, weddings, christenings, Bar Mitzvahs and S&M parties, whatever you’re in to! It has direct access to the smoking area so no need to huddle on the streets.
The Venue, which has a capacity of 300, a top notch sound and lighting system and a whole wall full of Balroom of Romance seating, resplendent in ripped brown leather and about 40 years of sweaty palm prints…
The Venue Bar, which will be reserved for gig goers when there are shows on, is, well, a bar. It has a few scratched tables, a decent number of old chairs and a piano that doesn’t work and apparently never will. There’s lots of red in The Venue Bar – red walls, red seats, red drapes – and some huge old mirrors and floor to ceiling windows that flood reams of light into this crabby old room and, oh yes, a proper bar, serving proper liquor, in a proper and timely fashion.
Upstairs, in a haze of silver and purple, you’ll find The First Floor Bar, a spot where all and sundry are welcome to imbibe and gossip. The First Floor Bar features a wall of huge old windows looking out over the river Liffey, art exhibitions from emerging local and international talent, a finely tuned soundsystem and some rather lovely barkeeps, who are as adept at making a seriously tasty cocktail as they are at pouring the perfect pint.
And then there’s The Fourth Floor. We are afraid to go up there, so we’ve quadruple padlocked it and put the keys in a safe that has been buried in 40 feet of concrete in the creepy tunnel that runs under the building. We don’t speak about The Fourth Floor, so please don’t ask…
