Kristin Hersh could kick the crap out of you with a single chord- even one gently strummed on her acoustic guitar. The singer-songwriter and founder of seminal art-punk band Throwing Muses will perform a highly entertaining, emotionally powerful and sometimes very funny, solo-acoustic live show at The Workman’s Club in Dublin on Friday November 11^th.

Yes, Kristin is a woman who sings, writes songs, and plays guitar, which qualifies her a “female singer-songwriter-guitarist” but only in the most meaningless technical sense. Her style lacks completely the weak strumming and warbling of the typical coffee house solo-acoustic fare we all dread.

Her uniquely intense and expressive performances connect her with anyone who has ever felt isolated or alone. Kristin screams for those who cannot scream for themselves and while her solo acoustic gigs may indeed be quieter than Muses, they’re no less intense.
